Jodhpur has very rich and authentic cuisine, especially to serve the royal taste buds. Many recipes have seemed to be originated from Jodhpur, which is another reason Jodhpur is on traveler’s list. Mostly known for its indigenous spices, is the actual reason what makes it more delicious. First and foremost you can find all type of food here. From street food to authentic you can find everything on one plate. But this city has list of popular dishes, snacks, sweets, namkeens and much more to satiate your hunger. List of few things to try are Kachoris i.e. flat bread stuffed with variety of fillings and deep fried, you can try out Pyaz ki Kachori which is a bit spicy and flavorful, then there is mave ki kachori which is sweet. And Mirchibada, which is chilli stuffed with potatoes coated in gram flour then deep fried. It’s a must recommended snack. In full course meal it is suggested to try dal bati churma, it’s a stomach filling and savoring. Dal Bati is a dish originated in Rajasthan, dal is prepared using lentils supplied with bati on i.e. wheat balls baked in oven, Churma is served on the sides; it’s a sweet dish made of batis churned fine and mixed with sugar and nuts. Also to try is Gatte ki sabzi, Kair Sangri, Pachkuta, Haldi ki Sabji etc. these are curries served with Chapatis. On an average in Jodhpur you get to see at least two sweet shops round the corner located at every street. Jodhpur Sweets are famous all across India; in Jodhpur it’s a must to have sweets with your meal. Prominent among them are few; Rabri Ghewar, Malpuas, Gulab Jamuns, Laddoos, Pedas, Rabri and Makhaniya Lassi. There are few shops located in city which are years old they serve best of sweets.
