Ranthambhore is situated in the Sawai Madhopur District of East Rajasthan. It is one of the most visited National parks in India. It is a national part as well as a tiger Reserve and you should surely visit this place if you want to witness the true royalty and grace of Tigers, the national animal of India. If you want to see Tigers and other wildlife in their own natural habitat, visit to Ranthambhore is a must. This place has a history of centuries. Initially, this place was a hunting ground for the Royals but when the project save tigers came into existence, it was declared as a Tiger Reserve in 1973, and Ranthambhore became a national park in 1980.

Wildlife-The terrain of the forest is dry deciduous forests and open grass meadows and because of such a terrain, spotting tigers and other wildlife is very easy. The other wildlife in this forest includes crocodiles, another very often spotted species. There are a lot of spotted deers, Sambar, wild cats, sloth bear, wild boars and Hyenas in the Ranthambor national park aswell. If you are interested in bird watching, Ranthambhore national park is a perfect holiday place for you, because it houses species like peacocks, Woodpeckers, Crescent Eagles and Kingfishers.

Padma Talao- There are many attractive features of Ranthambhore national park, distinguishing it from other national parks in India. The Ranthambhore Fort, which was built in the 10th century stands 700 feet above ground and manages to give a majestic look to the entire national park. Sometimes even tigers and other wildlife species are spotted inside the fort.  Another very important things inside the park is the Padma Talao, which is the largest lake located in this park. This lake makes the park a treat for reptile lovers as many crocodiles are spotted basking on the banks of this lake.

Transport -Getting to Ranthambhore is very easy, no matter what mode of transport you use. If you want to travel by Air, Ranthambhore is at a distance of 160 kms from Jaipur Airport. If you are travelling by Railway, you can get down at Sawai Madhopur Railway station, which is at a distance of 11 kms from the national park, and you can get taxis from there. If you are travelling by road, there are buses from all the major cities of Rajasthan to Ranthambhoree. Thus, do not worry about the fact that you will face inconveniences while travelling here.

The best time to visit Ranthambhore is January to April and you always have the best accommodation facilities here. There are hotels which will fit from normal to luxury budgets. These hotels also organize safaris for you. Along with the wildlife, you can enjoy the culture and traditions of Rajasthan as well, as many of the hotels organize cultural dance and music shows.
