Jaisalmer is city that located in the eastern part of Rajasthan, the western province of India. Maharaja Maharawal Jaisal Singh who was a Rajput emperor had founded Jaisalmer city. The city received its name after Maharawal Jaisal Sing only. Jaisalmer city is also known as "The Golden City" because golden colored sandstones that generally used in house and premises constructions. Like other cities of same province, Jaisalmer is a famous place of tourist attraction. Jaisalmer has great historical places as if BadaBagh and Gadisar Lake those make it incredible Jaisalmer.

Jaisalmer is located in the eastern direction from incredible Jodhpur. The distance between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer is 302 Kilometers via National highway no. 15.There are daily basis trains between Jaisalmer and Jodhpur and estimated journey time is around four hours between these two historical tourist places.

Jaisalmer fort - The biggest center of tourist attraction Jaisalmer is Jaisalmer fort. Jaisalmer fort is also known as golden fort because of its golden color that comes from golden colored sandstones. The location of the fort is in the Thar desert, over Trikuta hills were the kings have fought many battles. This fort had been built for the residential purpose for Raja Jaisal in 1156 AD. This fort is stated as one of the biggest forts in the world. This fort is an example of the finest art of Rajasthani architectures.

Badabagh - Other tourists attracting place in incredible Jaisalmer is “BadaBagh” that means big garden. Badabagh is an isolated place but it looks extreamly beautiful in early morning and evenig times. Tourists like to click pictures for these sites for their memories. This bagh is located around 6 kilometres North of Jaisalmer, while going towards Ramgarh. The Bagh is famous for its set of royal cenotaphs or also known as cahtras of Kings such as jai Singh II of Jaisalmer state. There is another garden near the lake along with the chattri for Jai Singh II.

Patwon-Ki-Haveli - One more monument in Jaisalmer is Patwon-Ki-Haveli. A famous merchant “Guman Chand” and his son constructed this place. The huge five floors beautiful premise have five wonderfully decorated suits. This haveli is a group of five havelis. The first one is the famous with the name of Kothari’s patwa haveli. Tourists visit this haveli to appreciate its paintings on the wall, Jahrokas crafted out of yellow sandstone, gateways as well as archways. While building is crafted out of yellow stone but the gateway of the Haveli is brown. It is a marvelous place to visit, a unique architecture that defines the royalty.

Thar Heritage Museum - Another watchable place in Jaisalmer is the Thar Heritage Museum where so many historic articles exhibited. Often, when tourists visit Jaisalmer, the guide book or the travel agents recommend Heritage Museum as the must place to visit. The reason behind this is that the Museum showcases the sea fossil, coins, post cards, documents of Jaisalmer State, leather containers of ghee weapons which were used in the wars, musical Instruments that were played at that time for amusement and other such things that are rare and at the same time depict the lifestyle of the Kings and royals of that time.

Gadisar Lake - It is not just tourists place but this Lake is a lifeline for the people of Jaisalmer city. People depend on this Lake only for their day-to-day water needs. The first ruler and founder of this city, Raja Jaisal, constructed the Lake. There are temples, chhatris, and shrines near by the Lake. The surrounding temples and chhatris increase the graceful look of the Lake. The Lake at that time was used as a water reservoir and it is surrounded by temples and ghats. Tourists can spend some quality and peaceful time, can do boating or simply take view of the beautiful lake.

Nation Desert Park - Jaisalmer has world famous Nation Desert Park, where you can rare species of birds and other animal who live in the desert. This park is one of the largest parks of its kind in India. Tourists love to visit this park to see migratory birds. If one has to witness the magnificent eco system of Thar Desert, Nation Desert Park has whole of it. Almost 20% of the park is covered with Sand dunes, Tourists can see resident birds such as eagle’s falcons, Kestrel and vultures in the nation Desert Park.

Silk Route Art Gallery - Tourists can find various designs of quilts as well as carpets here. In case of any confusion you can consult the helpers who are present there just to help you. The quilts and carpets also tell so much about tradition and culture of this city. Tourists are not charged any entry fee here and can freely visit the place from 8 am to 8 pm. Moreover the silk route gallery is open all days in a week.
