Bharatpur is a city in the state of Rajasthan. It is located in the Birj region and is very famous as for its Keoladeo National park, as well as many other palaces as well as temples. The history of Bharatpur can be traced back to the 11th century AD, was the capital of the historic Jat Kingdom. In the 10th century, the Yadavs took over this place and gradually fell in the hands of the East India Company in 1803. As mentioned above, Bharatpur is known for Keoladeo National park, which is UNESCO’s World Heritage site. Bharatpur palace -Another very important monument for the tourists is the Bharatpur palace, which is a perfect mix of Mughal and Rajasthani style of architecture built by different Maharajas. This royal palace is beautifully decorates right from its tiles to roof and it will give you the true essence of the royalty of Rajasthan, leaving you mesmerized.

Government museum- The government museum is also something worth visiting. It is located inside the Lohgarh fort and has possessed around 4000 antiques including artifacts, weapons, delicately crafted sculptures, and decorative art objects, including the paintings of the Maharajas of Bharatpur, which give us the picture of the rich cultural heritage of the Royals as well as the common people and tribes of Rajasthan. The timing for this museum is 10 am to 5 pm, and the entry fees are very nominal.

JawaharBurj and FatehBurj -Another attraction in Bharatpur includes the JawaharBurj and FatehBurj, which stand intact inside the fort. These were built by Maharaja Surajmal ||.

Ganga Mandir & Laxman temple -Along with historic monuments and wildlife Sanctuary, Bharatpur also has religious places like the Ganga Mandir, which was initiated in 1845. Another very important temple in Bharatpur is the Laxman temple, which is one of the very few Laxman temples in India.
